Road America is a road course complex in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Its main course is a 4.048-mile, 14-turn course that currently hosts nine weekends of spectator racing, including NASCAR’s Nationwide Series, the ARCA Racing Series, the GRAND-AM Series, the SCCA, the American LeMans Series, and AMA Superbikes. There is also a 0.8-mile karting course that hosts weekly racing and six weekend events.
The track opened in 1955, and has maintained its original configuration. In the past, the track has hosted events for CART/IndyCar, USAC, and ISMA, among others.
The 2013 racing season at Road America gets underway with the Spring Vintage Weekend, May 17th through 19th, followed by the SUBWAY Superbike Double-Header, May 31st through June 2nd. Also in June: the Vintage Motorcycle Classic – June 7th through 9th, the Chicago Region SCCA Sprints – June 13th through 16th, and the Nationwide Series/ARCA Racing Series weekend – June 20th through 22nd. The OPTIMA Faceoff at Road America takes place June 23rd, followed by the HAWK with Brian Redman vintage race takes place July 18th through 21st, and the Ferrari Club of America 50th Anniversary, August 1st through 4th. The GRAND-AM and American LeMans Series visits Road America August 8th through11th. The event schedule closes out in September with the Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival – September 6th through 8th, and the SCCA National Championship Runoffs – September 19th through 22nd.
