Pacific Raceways, located in Kent, Washington (near Seattle), is one of the NHRA’s most beautiful facilities, with Mount Rainier and majestic trees as its backdrop. Opened in 1960, the facility also includes a 2.25-mile, nine-turn road course and hosts karting and sports car races.
The track hosted its first NHRA event in 1960. The Fiorito family, which still owns the facility, leased the drag strip to Seattle International Raceway in 1976; the contract expired on January 1st, 2002, and the Fiorito family is once again in control of the track.
The 2013 O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals, the third race in a three-race Western swing for the NHRA’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, take place Friday through Sunday, August 2nd through 4th, and will feature Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock divisions. Tickets are not yet on sale for the event, but keeping checking www.pacificraceways.com for their availability as the season begins.
