Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park, is the home of USAC and NHRA races each season. Built in 1958, the facility is home to a quarter-mile drag strip and a 0.686-mile oval, as well as a 2.5-mile road course.
The facility’s drag strip is incorporated into the straightaway of the road course, and hosts the prestigious Labor Day weekend MAC Tools NHRA US Nationals. The oval track hosts the USAC Midget Series “Night Before the 500” race and the road course hosts SCCA events.
The main events scheduled in 2013 on the oval include the USAC Midget race on Saturday, May 25th, which also features the US F2000 and Pro Mazda Series, and the pre-Brickyard 400 running of the USAC Midget and Silver Crown Series on Saturday, July 27th. The main event for the drag strip is the 2013 MAC Tools NHRA US Nationals, Thursday through Monday, August 28th through September 2nd. Tickets for the NHRA and USAC events will soon be available at www.lucasoilraceway.com.
