Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida will once again host NASCAR’s championship showdowns for 2013. Opened in 1995, the track hosts the season finales for NASCAR’s top three series: Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Truck Series.
The speedway was part of rejuvenation efforts for the area after the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. The track reflects the area’s Art Deco Miami Beach district. The track has been reconfigured twice to make it more competitive, and in addition to the 1.5-mile oval, is also home to a 2.3-mile, 11-turn road course. In the past, Homestead-Miami also hosted the IndyCar finale.
The 2013 schedule for Homestead-Miami Speedway features weekly events plus driving schools, as well as NASCAR’s Championship Weekend, November 15th through 17th. In action on Friday, November 15th is the Camping World Truck Series, followed by the Nationwide Series finale on Saturday, November 16th. The weekend wraps up with the presentation of the Sprint Cup on Sunday, November 17th. Tickets are not yet on sale for NASCAR racing, but check back frequently at www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com for more information.
