2013 track profile: Chicagoland Speedway

Chicagoland Speedway, located in Joliet, Illinois, was opened in 2001. It currently hosts NASCAR top three series – Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Trucks – and the ARCA Racing Series, and is adjacent to Route 66 Raceway, a drag strip that hosts the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

Chicagoland hosted the IZOD IndyCar Series through 2010, and is the site of the closest finish in IndyCar history; the track also hosted the IROC Series in 2002 and 2003. The speedway is owned by International Speedway Corporation.

The 2013 Chicagoland Speedway schedule includes the Nationwide Series and ARCA Racing Series events on July 21st, and the NASCAR weekend that kicks off the Chase for the Sprint Cup, September 13th through 15th; the Chase weekend features all three of NASCAR’s top series: Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.

Tickets for the 2013 season will be on sale soon – visit www.chicagolandspeedway.com for complete details.
