2013 track profile: Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series will see a couple of firsts in 2013: its first dirt track race (Eldora Speedway), as well as its first race north of the border, at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. The track, formerly known as Mosport Park, is co-owned by NASCAR road course “ringer” Ron Fellows. The event also marks the return of the Truck Series to a road course for the first time since 2000.

Some of the events scheduled for CTMP in 2013 include the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Trans-Am Series, Canadian Touring Car Championship and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada on Victoria Day weekend, May 17th through 19th; the Canadian Historic Grand Prix, June 14th through 16th; and the Canadian Tire Series, this time on the facility’s half-mile oval on June 22nd. The American Le Mans Series visits CTMP July 18th through 21st for the Grand Prix of Mosport, joined by the Cooper Tire Prototype Lites, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada, IMSA GT3 Challenge, Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup and Star Mazda Series. The Superbike Doubleheader Weekend takes place August 9th through 11th, while the Truck Series race, along with the Canadian Tire Series and Canadian Touring Car Championship, round out the season August 30th through September 1st.

Tickets for the Camping World Truck Series weekend are on sale now – visit www.mosport.com to purchase tickets and for more information on races and the track.
