The 2013 Sundance Film Festival kicks off its annual 10-day indie film fest on Jan. 17 with several screenings from the competition film line-up, as well as the opening of the New Frontier project, which is described as "a social and creative space that showcases media installations, multimedia performances, transmedia experiences, panel discussions, and more."
Director Richard Linklater's "Before Midnight," Michael Winterbottom's "The Look of Love," David Gordon Green's "Prince Avalanche," Park Chan-wook's "Stoker" and first-timer Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Don Jon's Addiction" are among the marquee films set to screen in the Premieres section of this year's Sundance Film Festival.
A total of 115 films will screen this year, with 101 world premieres. Here's a list of the festivals opening weekend events:
An Artist at the Table
A fundraiser and kick-off for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and an intimate evening to celebrate independent artists and their work. This event includes cocktails with filmmakers, reserved seating at the Day One screening, dinner with artists, and a performance by Sundance Institute artists.
