The Stellar Radio Awards was held Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville Tenn. Comedian Nephew Tommy of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and actress/comedienne Tasha Smith and Al “The Bishop” Hobbs served as hosts, along with Sheilah Belle. Performers included Richard “Mr. Clean” White, Da T.R.U.T.H., KB and Ethan Kent. Isaac Carree performed his newest single “Clean This House.”
Nephew Tommy and Tasha Smith kept the audience laughing throughout and brought a sense of all-out fun to the event. One of the great moments of the show was octogenarian William “Bill the Mailman” Martin receiving the Reach Award, a true testament to lifetime dedicated to broadcasting.
Ace Alexander captured the Gospel Announcer of the Year Award. Alexander's nationally broadcast afternoon radio show, "The Praise Party" also has an international presence. This year marked the first National Radio of the Year Award which consists of internet and satellite radio stations. Inside Gospel with Frankie Wilson won that award.
