Every year the coming of fall is celebrated with a trip from the Twin Cities to Duluth, MN for the Scandinavian Festival put on by the Twin Ports Rosemaling Society. This years festival will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 9:00am until 3:00pm at the Shrine Center which is located at 5152 Miller Trunk Highway (Hwy 53) in Duluth.
There is a $3.00 cost to enter the festival where you will enjoy handcrafted Scandinavian art, samples of freshly baked lefse, live music, and handcrafted treats with coffee (of course) for a nominal donation. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit with local craftspeople to learn about their various arts, and even watch live demonstrations. The rosemaling work is stunning, the woodchipping and woodcarving are amazing, and the Hardanger embroidered items are simply beautiful!
It's a great time to pick up items for Christmas as the items here are so unique and guaranteed to be loved and enjoyed for many years by any lucky recipient!!
