Once again it’s that time of year when the Pikes Peak Writers hold their annual conference. Writing from the Ashes: Never Lose Sight of Your Dreams, the 2013 Pikes Peak Writers Conference will be held Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21, with an extra session on Thursday, April 18 available at additional charge. The conference will be held at the Colorado Springs Marriot Hotel at 5580 Tech Center Drive, with lodging available with special rates for conference attendees.

The 2013 Pikes Peak Writers Conference will be filled with opportunity. Writing form the Ashes is a writer’s opportunity for informative writing workshops to learn the craft and trade, networking opportunities to meet and socialize with successful writers, agents and editors, opportunities to read or pitch your work to reputable agents and editors, and listen to a great lineup of keynote speakers:

· Award winning, New York Times bestselling author Libby Bray

· Award winning, bestselling thriller novelist Barry Eisler

· Writer, director and actress Amber Benson

· Award winning novelist David Liss

Opportunities to pitch your manuscript and Read & Critique sessions include the following agents and editors, and this is what they’re looking for:

Workshops and panels for the Thursday pre-conference programming include a Sales and Marketing Bootcamp; Pleasures and Perils of Writing Memoir, Personal Essay and Creative Nonfiction; Writing for Today’s YA and MG Market; Pitch Perfect; Writing and Marketing Historical Fiction; The Four P’s of Nonfiction; The Query Lab; and Lie Like You Mean It. Workshops will be led by the authors and specialists of PPW’s experienced and knowledgeable staff: ghostwriter/creative consultant and author Terry Banker; novelist and two time Golden Heart finalist Donnell Ann Bell; author Kathy Brandt; romance author Jax Bubis a.k.a. Registration is open online. The cost of the conference is $450.00 dependent on space availability. Conference fee includes lunch and dinner on Friday, continental breakfast and the Keynote Banquet on Saturday, and the farewell luncheon on Sunday. Opportunities for Pitches and Read & Critiques are included with your conference fee. Sign up when you register. The Thursday pre-conference programming is an additional $85.00 with your registration, or $135.00 as a stand-alone day. Additional tickets for the Keynote Banquet may be purchased separately at $50.00 per person.
