Tonight the People’s Choice Awards kick off awards show season on CBS and voting is virtually closed except for a few fan following categories. So whether you voted or not, it's still important to know who to root for. So here is a look at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards nominees and a few picks of who might walk away with the coveted award.
Now, if you’re new to the People’s Choice Awards it’s the one awards show where fans choose the winners in film, television and music. The nominees this year included choices from movies like The Hunger Games, The Avengers and Twilight and featured television choices like The New Girl, The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon A Time and The Walking Dead. Music entertainers featured the standard fair like Katy Perry, Justin Beiber and newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen for her infectionious earworm, “Call Me Maybe”.
In the movies categories it’s going to be a neck and neck race between The Avengers and The Hunger Games. The Avengers assembled to be nominated in 9 out of the 17 movie categories and claimed 4 out of 5 of the nominees in Favorite Action Movie Star and Favorite Movie Superhero. Look for them to win in both of those categories. Jennifer Lawrence will for sure pull out Favorite Movie Actress but she’s got some competition with Kristen Stewart in the Favorite Face of Heroism category. As for Favorite Movie, it could be anybody’s game but The Avengers are the likely winners. Channing Tatum is also going to have a big night. He is nominated in 4 categories and will take home the Favorite Movie Actor award.
In TV, Once Upon A Time is nominated three times but it’s doubtful that OUAT will take home all three awards. They might walk away with favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV show. The Walking Dead is up against them in that category and they are also up for a total of two awards.
Finally, in music expect the usual favorites like Justin Beiber and Taylor Swift to take nearly everything. Beiber is nominated in five categories and Swift is up for three. Their biggest competition is Adele who is up for two awards and newcomer, Carly Rae Jepsen. Jepsen will likely take home Favorite Song.

While your there vote for one of the Favorite Movie, TV and Music Fan Following categories and Favorite New TV Comedy and Drama categories. The 2013 People’s Choice Awards airs at 9 p.m. on CBS.
