It was a big night for several of those attending the 2013 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles Wednesday evening (Jan. 10), but none more so than Jennifer Lawrence and her associates from "The Hunger Games." The film and Lawrence were the biggest winners of the ceremony, racking up six awards in all.
"The Hunger Games" won for Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, and Favorite Movie Franchise. Jennifer Lawrence won Favorite Face of Heroism and Favorite On-Screen Chemistry, which she shared with "The Hunger Games" co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. Lawrence also won Favorite Movie Actress.
With all those Marvel superheroes in the Favorite Movie Superhero category, a Christian Bale win for his role as Batman would have given DC Comics crowing rights. However, Robert Downey Jr. won for his role as Iron Man, so...
Robert Downey Jr also won for Favorite Movie Actor.
The incomparable Meryl Streep won for Favorite Movie Icon in a category that featured only female actors.
Ellen Degeneres won her eighth People's Choice Awards trophy for Favorite Talk Show Host. Jimmy Fallon won for the Late Night version of the award.
In the music category, Katy Perry was the big winner for the night, pulling in four awards: Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Fan Following, and Favorite Music Video ("Part of Me"). One Direction was the only act that came close, garnering two: Favorite Album of the Year (Up All Night) and Favorite Song of the Year ("What Makes You Beautiful").
ABC's "Castle" took home the Favorite TV Crime Drama and Nathan Fillion, who plays the title role, took home Favorite TV Drama Actor. And although "Big Bang Theory" won the night's final award for Favorite Network TV Comedy, "Glee" took in two actor awards, Favorite TV Comedy Actor (Chris Colfer) and Actress (Lea Michelle).
The CW's "Supernatural" was also a multiple award winner, taking home the trophies for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show and Favorite TV Fan Following.
Fox's "X Factor" was a surprise winner in the Favorite TV Competition Show. It picked up a second award when judge Demi Lovato was named Favorite Celebrity Judge.
Kaley Cuoco, who must have changed dresses at least a dozen times, hosted the 39th People's Choice Awards.
