Helen Hunt (The Sessions) and Naomi Watts (The Impossible) were not the only fashionistas who stunned at the 2013 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards gala on Jan. 5. Helen Mirren and Diane Lane gave them a stylish run on the red carpet. Mirren was elegant as usual in her Escada gown and Stuart Weitzman heels, and Lane showed off her lovely figure in a lace Dolce and Gabbana cocktail dress.
Both Hunt and Watts rocked similar shades of blue, with Hunt in a Michael Kors gown and Watts in Roland Mouret. The Hollywood reporter gave the actresses credit for nailing perfect colors. “When actresses start to consider what the most flattering colors for their hair and skin tone are, and make subtle but novel choices, you know they're really getting it,” the publication wrote on Jan 5.
Hunt received the Spotlight Award and Watts, the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Acting. Mirren received the International Award and Lane presented the Chairman’s Award to Richard Gere. Other attendees and honorees included, Sally Field, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper. ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Television Personality, Mary Hart hosted the gala event.
The 2013 Festival runs from January 3-14 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and includes over 400 screenings of more than 200 films from approximately 60 countries. For ticket information to the gala or other festival events, call (760) 322-2930 or go to www.psfilmfest.org.
