2013 Academy Awards: Red Carpet Fashion Photos & Highlights (Feb. 24)

Actress Jessica Chastain walked the Oscars red carpet in a strapless, rose-gold Armani gown and vintage Harry Winston jewels on Sunday afternoon. The gown set off the "Zero Dark Thirty" star's strawberry-kissed locks beautifully. Blonde beauty and fellow Academy Awards nominee Naomi Watts also chose a glimmering Armani creation, rocking a funky, almost futuristic one-shoulder design.

Actress Reese Witherspoon stopped to chat with "E! Live From the Red Carpet: 2013 Academy Awards" host Ryan Seacrest in a fabulous black-and-blue Louis Vuitton gown she said her daughter helped pick out. Reese showcased big, shiny, golden curls set off by Louis Vuitton jewels.

Guiliana Rancic briefly interrupted Ryan Seacrest's red carpet moment with Reese to ask how she kept her hair looking so amazing, and we don't blame her: Reese's hair looked amazingly lush and full on the red carpet Sunday afternoon! Reese confessed to Giuliana she had baby hormones to thank for her crowning glory.

Anne Hathaway chose a pale pink satin-finish Prada design with a high neckline and paired it with a shimmering choker; the fit wasn't our favorite. Charlize Theron stunned in white, with her Dior Couture dress hugging every curve just right. Charlize paired her Dior gown with "just a few" Harry Winston jewels for shimmer.

"Les Miserables" actress Amanda Seyfried played coy with Seacrest regarding the Les Mis performance that will open the 2013 Academy Awards, but she did share details of her red carpet look: Amanda chose a grey Alexander McQueen gown, paired with a teased updo. Sadly, the overall effect of Amanda's look was a definite 2013 Oscars red carpet fashion fail; the already-pale actress looked completely washed out in her grey gown and ash-toned locks.

Catherine Zeta-Jones did the opposite of washing out, rocking the carpet with hubby Michael Douglas in a sparkling gold Zuhair Murad creation that bucked the evening's strapless trend with its thin, golden straps. Hot!

"Silver Linings Playbook" and award season front-runner Jennifer Lawrence looked lovely in a pale pink Dior Haute Couture; Jennifer gave her sophisticated look a whimsical twist, wearing a glittering necklace down her back. The actress carried a small metallic clutch.

2013 Oscars Red Carpet Fashion: Fabulous or Fail?

Actor Channing Tatum (clean-shaven in a tux with a sexy, slightly off-kilter bowtie) and pregnant wife Jenna Dewan (in a black sequined gown) also chatted with the "E! Live From the Red Carpet: 2013 Academy Awards" host. "I have a few more months," Jenna Dewan told Seacrest of her growing belly.

Young Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis, 9, wore a royal blue ballgown, complete with a matching wrap and a puppy purse she said was named "Sammy" after her own dog.

Actress Kerry Washington said she started 2013 Oscars day with a workout so she could look amazing in her strapless coral Miu Miu at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. We'd say that workout worked!Kerry looked flawless in the gown, which featured an embellished bodice.

Daniel Radcliffe of "Harry Potter" fame looked all grown up in a dashing tux, topped off with a gel-sculpted coif. Radcliffe named "Django Unchained" and "Argo" among his favorite Oscar-nominated films of the year, but declined to offer a prediction on which films and talent would actually win during tonight's event.

Previous Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's long-sleeved Roberto Cavali design featured a sexy boat-neck neckline and fabric that resembled shimmering fish scales (in the best possible way). Jennifer wore her hair long and straight, with soft bangs keeping her look styled and polished.
