Early Thursday morning, the 85th Academy Awards nominations for the Oscars were announced and the news has created a buzz. Emma Stone and Seth MacFarlane announced the news at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Twelve Oscar nominations were given to "Lincoln," including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay and Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones were given Best Actor nominations.
Following closely behind is the "Life of Pi" with 11 Oscar nominations, including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay and quite a few technical nominations.
"Zero Dark Thirty" and "Les Miserables," also followed closely behind with numerous nominations.
Oscar nominations for Best Actress included: 9-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis, 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, and Naomi Watts.
Oscar nominations for Best Actor included: Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Daniel Day-Lewis, Joaquin Phoenix, and Denzel Washington.
Best supporting actress nominations included: Amy Adams, Sally Field, Anne Hathaway, Helen Hunt, and Jacki Weaver. And best supporting actor nominations included: Alan Arkin, Robert DeNiro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tommy Lee Jones, and Christoph Waltz.
The 2013 Oscar Awards will be held Sunday, February 24th, 2013.
