Melbourne Florida, January 27, 2013 – The bi-annual Surf Expo has returned to Orlando as it does twice a year, once in January and once in September. This with no exception this was a great show. Over 11,000 attendees made their way through a maze of over 2,000 exhibitor booths.
Many of the exhibitors that I visited last year were on display with loads of surf life-style boutique and surf store clothing, hats, bags or all kinds, skate, surf and SUP boards and gear for every age group. This year, I spent a little more time at the indoor skate park that was constructed within the exhibition hall watching skateboarders show their stuff. At the time I felt like I was at a skateboard tournament instead of in an exhibition hall.
Last year in my September article I included all the booths I visited and wrote about their products. This year I am going to write a separate review on each of the more interesting surf life-style vendors I spoke with.
Now that I have two Surf Expos under my belt, all I can say is that the 2013 January show was a blast. I would like to congratulate the Surf Expo management team for a well run, amazing event that exemplifies the surf lifestyle.
September’s show is going to be different. According to GLM, the Surf Expo management company, a leading operator of face-to-face and online buying, selling and networking platforms for retailers and suppliers, today announced that it will co-locate an Internet Retailer e-commerce conference with the September 2013 Surf Expo show. The co-located event, "Internet Retailer @ Surf Expo," will present Surf Expo retailers and exhibitors with onsite access to top-level e-commerce vendors as well as hands-on information on how e-commerce can help to grow their businesses.
Mark your calendars. September 6th -8th, 2013 are the dates for the fall show.
Until next time, be safe in the sun and have a great day on the water.
