2013 Oregon roller derby all-star team: Tempest Fugit

Tempest Fugit of the Portland Rosebuds (along with Seattle's Antagonist Roller Derby) makes the 2013 Oregon all-star team. Here is what some of the voters had to say about her...

"In her last season with the Buds, Tempest is a triple threat on the track. A strong jammer that also blocks with the best of them. When things need to be handled, she's in the line up." - Anonymous

"I think she embodies MVP in anything she does. She is the best all-around player I have seen, being an incredible jammer as well as a formidable blocker. She strives for excellence in everything she does, on-track, off-track, at school, in her family relationships and friendships. She deserves to be recognized for her hard work this season, skating on two teams, and showing the derby world that juniors CAN play competitively with adults under the new rules. It has been a pleasure watching her skate this year." - Lisa Harkins

"For a 16 year skater, Tempest is a powerhouse. She’s a solid utility skater who will get the job done either as jammer or blocker. As jammer she puts her speed skating training to use, chasing the opposing jammer down or racking up the points on her own. As a blocker, she’s one of the best positional blockers around. Jammers get tired of staring at the back of her and being recycled, time and time again. Skating with Antagonist at USARS nationals, she proved she was a force to be reckoned with even against Oly." - Anonymous
