This Saturday afternoon is the 5th annual open house at the Julia Dean Photo Workshops. There will be a photojournalist panel discussion moderated by Julia Dean, free classes, raffle prizes, photographic vendors, and a camera equipment swap meet. There will be food from Dray’s Bar-B-Q and the event is free to the public.
The photographic panel discussion will include photojournalists David Butow, Francine Orr, Marissa Roth, Al Schaben and Ted Soqui. There will be a free creative portraiture workshop taught by Ken Merfeld, DSLR Video basics taught by Tim McGovern, Mac Essentials taught by Tanya Robinson and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 with Jim Sanderson. All open house attendees will receive 10% off if they enroll in workshops offered during the spring quarter (April-June).
Saturday evening is also the opening night of the Alchemy + Entity photography exhibit. 16 Los Angeles Fine Art photographers will be presenting new work at the Julia Dean Gallery. The work examines the process of transformation. Each photographer is responding to the influence of an idea, a feeling, a theme or a person. The results are a unique collection of stunning imagery that both compliments each other while also presenting a strong and unique point of view on their own individual inspiration.
