Over the last four seasons, Alabama has seemingly lived on top of the college football polls, but Mississippi is going to try to put an end to that today. According to a Sportsline report on Sept. 27, recent history is not on the side of Ole Miss as the Rebels invade Tuscaloosa tonight, but the 2013 Rebels are ready to pull off a major upset.
The No. 21 ranked Rebels will try to end a nine-game losing streak vs. Alabama on Saturday night. Ending that streak could go a long ways for Ole Miss.
Sitting at 3-0 for the first time since 1989, Mississippi is looking to shock the college football world by moving to 4-0 and knocking the Tide out of the No.1 spot. Averaging a gaudy 38.0 points per game, the Rebels smashed Texas 44-23 in their last contest on Sept. 14. With a week off to prepare for Alabama, the Rebels know they must play a perfect game to have a shot at an upset – and QB Bo Wallace must play another great game.
Wallace is ready for the challenge.
"I think we can put points on them,'' Wallace said of the Tide. "I think we can put points on anybody. We've just go to show up and play. It's the same thing every week - let's stay on schedule, control the tempo and don't have any turnovers.''
What can you say about Nick Saban and Alabama that hasn’t already been said over the past few years? They know how to win, and they usually do!
Prediction: It’s tough to pick against the Tide, but Ole Miss should put up a good fight. If they don’t turn the ball over, the Rebels will keep this game closer than most experts think.
