2013 NYCROSS.com Thunderdome CX

The 2013 NYCROSS.com Thunderdome CX event will be held on Sunday, December 15th, starting at 11 am. For some, this marks the end of a very successful cyclocross season and the start of getting fat until March. For others, it is a celebratory send-off to Nationals. Still others just come to eat sausage and have to be coaxed out of their warm cars.

Rally in parking lot H of the State Office Campus in Albany.

Please note: this is not a race!

No licenses, numbers, entry fees, prizes, or course tape. Cyclocross or Mountain bikes. Nobody has ever done it on a road or tri bike (or a unicycle, for that matter), but don’t let that stop you. Sleeveless jerseys and bar ends are not only allowed but encouraged. We’ll do a couple of parade laps of our top-secret training course at a festive, conversational pace, then riders are free to pedal as hard as they like for an additional three laps. Braats and libations and much rejoicing to follow. We’ll have a grill and will cook, literally, anything you want to throw onto the flames. We will also replay the now traditional “NYCROSS Schwag Schwap” in which you bring those new or nearly new but unwanted bike goodies that are either the by-product of upgrades or picked up from podium placings or sponsor gimmees throughout the season and toss them onto a big pile for folks to sift through and take what they can use. No need to RSVP, just don’t show up empty-handed.

Cycle On!
