The second race of the season for the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock divisions in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series is the NHRA Arizona Nationals, taking place Friday through Sunday, February 22nd through 24th at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.
In 2012, Robert Hight started his four-race Funny Car win streak at the Arizona Nationals, while Antron Brown and Jason Line scored victories in Top Fuel and Pro Stock, respectively. The 29th annual event will also feature Sportsman classes.
Qualifying sessions for the professional classes are Friday at 2 and 4 p.m. MT and Saturday at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. MT. Eliminations get underway on Sunday at 11 a.m. MT. Sunday morning will feature the popular Nitro Generation Track Walk at 9:30 a.m. MT for all fans with a ticket.
Tickets for the Arizona Nationals are now available at www.firebirdraceway.com – three-day passes are $99 (general admission) and $134 (reserved seating), available in advance only; individual day passes are also available. There is a $10 discount on any ticket for military personnel with ID, and kids 12 and under are admitted free to general admission grandstand areas.
