Week 2 of the 2013 NFL preseason concludes tonight when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Washington Redskins from FedEx Field in D.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST and viewers can catch all the action streaming online or on TV via ESPN.
Even though Redskins QB Robert Griffin III won't see any action, the atmosphere will still be electric for the first official Monday Night Football game of the year. The Steelers and Redskins both have Super Bowl dreams coming into the 2013 season, and it wouldn't surprise many NFL experts if these teams made a deep run into this year's postseason.
With RG3 sidelined, back up QB and former Michigan State Spartan Kirk Cousins will get the start for the Skins.
According to a SB Nation report on Aug. 19, Kirk Cousins went 6-for-7 passing for 52 yards and a touchdown during Washington's win over the Tennessee Titans in their preseason opener. RG3 does have crazy potential to become a superstar in the NFL, but Washington may have one of the best back up QB's in the NFL in Cousins.
As for the Steelers, they are just trying to get through the preseason without any more injuries, especially on offense.
Heath Miller is healing from a torn ACL, Matt Spaeth is out with a foot injury, and Plaxico Burress may be out for the entire 2013 season after he suffered a torn rotator cuff.
Sometimes the preseason can be rough, but so far for Pittsburgh it has been one to forget.
