Week 2 of the NFL preseason schedule is winding down, but not before two more games need to be completed. Tonight two teams with high hopes for the 2013 season will meet as the Indianapolis Colts will face the New York Giants. According to a CBS Sports training camp report on Aug. 18, tonight's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST and can be seen streaming online or nationwide on FOX.
It may just be the preseason, and the intensity most likely won't be as high as when the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants met in the 1958 Championship game, but it will be interesting to see Andrew Luck and Eli Manning direct their teams' offense.
Luck proved last season that he is wise beyond his years as an NFL rookie and Eli has shown over the past several seasons that he isn't second fiddle to big brother Peyton. Both of these QB's could one day be in the Hall of Fame.
The Colts were America's favorite underdog last season, but this year they will not be taken lightly.
If Indianapolis can step things up on the defensive side of the ball this season, they should be headed to the postseason once again in 2013. The Colts gave up almost 240 yards per contest during the 2012 season which put them near the bottom of the league. We know Indy should be okay on offense, but it's the defense that has fans wondering how good they will be this season.
As for the Giants, last year's 9-7 record and failure to make the postseason was a major disappointment. This year Big Blue is hosting the Super Bowl...hmm could they be the first team to host the big game and play in it? Never say never with the G-men.
