The 2013 NCAA football rankings for Week 9 are out and the Top 25 standings have been flipped upside down. According to an ESPN Top 25 update on Oct. 20, Alabama still is the clear cut No. 1 team in the land followed by the Oregon Ducks, however the rest of the top 10 has been shaken to its core.
Florida State thumped No. 3 Clemson last night and the Seminoles have moved up from No. 5 to the No. 3 spot, but it’s the Missouri Tigers that are taking college football by storm.
Not even ranked three weeks ago today, Mizzou is now the No. 5 team in the nation and rising faster than the hottest stock on the market!
After shocking the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend, the Tigers defeated the Florida Gators yesterday 36-17, keeping them perfect on the season at 7-0.
Missouri (7-0, 3-0) really did a number on the Gators, out gaining Florida by a whopping 500-151 margin and became the first conference opponent in the last 14 games to score at least 21 points against them. Mizzou wasn't on many team's map just 14 days ago, but take note - these guys are for real and are peaking at the right time.
Teams headed down the charts include Georgia, Florida, Washington and LSU.
The Tigers were upset yesterday vs. Ole Miss dropping them from No. 6 to No. 13 in the nation. Just when you think LSU may sneak into the top three, they get upset.
