2013 NBA All-Star Game: Facts and figures

With the NBA pausing for the 2013 NBA All Star Game in Houston, Texas this weekend, here are some facts and figures.

*The East leads the all-time series over the West, 36-25.

*Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record for the most All Star selections with 19. Here is the remainder of the top five:

-Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin Garnett—15

-Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone and Jerry West—14

-Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek—13

-Larry Bird, Elvin Hayes, Magic Johnson, Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, Oscar Robinson, Bill Russell, Dolph Schayes and Isiah Thomas—12

* Portland, Sacramento, Toronto, Memphis, Oklahoma City and Brooklyn are the only franchises to not host the NBA All-Star Game.

* Bob Pettit and Kobe Bryant hold the record with winning All-Star Game MVP four times. Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O'Neal all took home the honor three times.
