2013 National Finals Rodeo results from Round 5 - Updated

Bull rider Steve Woolsey was diagnosed with a concussion and shoulder abrasions after he was stepped on by Andrews Rodeo’s Strike Back during Round 5. As of this posting he is listed as questionable for Round 6.

Results from Round 5 of the 2013 National Finals Rodeo are now in.

Bareback riding: 2008, Bobby Mote scores 91.5 points
Steer wrestling: 1986, Steve Duhon posts a time of 3.0 seconds
Team roping: 2008, Garrett Tonozzi/Kinney Harrell; 2010, JoJo LeMond/Cory Petska, 3.5 seconds
Saddle bronc riding: 2003, Billy Etbauer wins with a score of 93 points
Tie-down roping: 2010, Cody Ohl and Trevor Brazile each posted times of 6.9 seconds
Barrel racing: 2011, Carlee Pierce won the round after posting a time of 13.46 seconds
Bull riding: 2003, Ryan Brown won with his score of 91.5 points

Bareback RidingFull Results
Bobby Mote (‘PTSD Power Play’) and Casey Colletti (‘Top Flight’) both scored an 87.5 to tie for First Place and took home checks for $16,676.68.
Wes Stevenson posted a score 86.5 on ‘Dirty Jacket’ to take Third Place and a check for $11,117.79.

Steer Wrestling Full Results
With a time of 4.10, Hunter Cure took First Place and earned the check for $18,629.81.
Tied for Second Place were Jule Hazen and Luke Branquinho, each turning in a time of 4.2, earning them both $12,920.67.
Dean Gorsuch and Jason Miller posted times of 4.8 to tie for Fourth Place and take home $6,310.09.

Team Roping – Full Results (Headers), (Heelers)
Charly Crawford and Ryan Motes took First Place with their time of 5.8 to take checks for $18,629.81.
Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill placed Second after posting a time of 6.1, earning them $14,723.56.
Third Place went to Luke Brown and Kollin VonAhn, and they took checks for $11,117.79.

Saddle BroncFull Results
Riding ‘Lunatic Fringe’ for a score of 87.5, Wade Sundell won the round and took home a check for $18,629.81.
Jake Wright (‘Resistols Top Hat’) and Cody Wright (‘Lunatic Party’) tied for Second Place after posting scores of 85.5 earning them each a check for $12,920.67.
Fourth Place went to Heith DeMoss after he rode ‘Medicine Woman’ for a score of 84.5 and took the check for $7,812.50.

Tie-Down RopingFull Results
Cody Ohl won the round with his time of 7.3 earning him the top check for $18,629.81.
Trevor Brazile continues to add money to his NFR earnings with a Second Place time of 7.4, tying with Clif Cooper, with both riders taking checks for $12,902.67.
Stetson Vest and Timber Moor tied for Fourth Place with times of 7.7, resulting in paychecks of $6,310.09.

Barrel Racing Full Results
It was a very tight race for the ladies with Lisa Lockhart winning the round with a time of 13.72 edging Mary Walker, who placed Second with her time of 13.73. Lockhart won $18,629.81; Walker’s check was $14,723.56.
Christy Loflin, Sherry Cervi and Taylor Jacob tied for Third Place with their times of 13.82, earning each rider checks for $7,912.66.

Bull RidingFull Results
First Place was won by Trey Benton III with his score of 90.5 on ‘Gin and Juice’ earning him a check for $18,629.81.
Tyler Smith placed Second with a score of 89.5 on ‘Wish This’ which put a check for $14,723.56 in his pocket.
J.W. Harris rode ‘King of Hearts’ for a score of 82.5 to place Third and collect a check for $11,117.79.

Crown Royal Riders Recap
Steve Woolsey was unable to qualify in Round 5 which kept Crown Royal from being able to donate money to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. There is still plenty of time for his to get a qualifying ride, so let’s cheer Steve on as he focuses on Round 6 tomorrow.
