As one of the best VMAs in recent history, the two and a half hour show was packed full of awesome performances, sexy stars, and a few awkward moments.
Miley Cyrus made huge waves when she took the stage with Robin Thicke to duet on “Blurred Lines,” but left many fans with their jaws on the floor after dirty dancing, skimpy outfits, and a few crude gestures.
Lady Gaga opened the show with her new single, “Applause,” and received a lot of it once her multiple costume and wig changes were through in the number.
Other noteworthy performances included Bruno Mars, Drake, Kanye West, and Katy Perry, who ended the show on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Taylor Swift also left a few mouths agape with her dig at ex-boyfriend, One Direction star, Harry Styles, in her acceptance speech.
However, it was Justin Timberlake who stole the show with his long performance medley of his biggest hits such as “Cry Me A River,” “Bringing Sexy Back,” “Suit and Tie,” “Mirrors,” and “Like I Love You,” but it was the ‘N Sync reunion that really got the crowd going, and Justin ended the performance by accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.
The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards were an action packed night that ended with fans feeling satisfied, and like this year’s VMAs were one of the best in years. Now it’s time for MTV to start planning for next year.
