Tuesday, the Cyber Week Awards were released and the top most searched for 2013 Christmas gifts was revealed; the most popular searched for products on Cyber Monday were cell phones, tablets, iPads, video game consoles such as Xbox One and PlayStation 4, minecraft legos, and in the women’s category, Ugg boots. Every year, just when it looks like Ugg boots might go away they seem to make their way up to the top of the search results again.
Google released the top trending items on Black Friday and Ugg boots made it to the number four most Googled product. Ugg boots have been in the news this week as well, and Business Week reported that the shares for Decker (the company that makes Ugg boots) has begun to rise for this holiday season. The stock grew just over 3% on Monday afternoon.
The video to the left shows how to clean Ugg boots properly.
Minecraft legos have also been a popular item this year. Toys-R-Us is having a sale on them Wednesday and has been running commercials all week promoting their minecraft legos sale. The minecraft legos allow the user to build their own world, and the product has created a buzz this holiday season.
iPads and tablets have also been one of the most popular items this year and retailers have been aggressively lowering prices so that consumers purchase the iPads and tablets at their stores. Walmart and Target were fighting over their iPad sales, and Best Buy came in at the last minute on Black Friday and beat them both with their iPad sale. For more on that iPad story, click here.
The new Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 were released in the last few weeks before Black Friday and sales of each have skyrocketed over the last few weeks making each one of the most searched for items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Xbox One was released the week before Black Friday and PlayStation 4 was released about a month before Black Friday.
