The 2013 MLB World Series live stream and TV coverage for Game 6 arrives at 7:30 on FOX on Wednesday night, with the Cardinals trying to prevent a championship celebration by the Red Sox. With the game being played at Fenway, St. Louis is hoping to spoil a pennant win, and force a Game 7 so they can try to capture another title themselves. The latest TV and live stream MLB game will be presented via Fox affiliate channels and MLB's website for international viewers.
An Oct. 29 article from Wall Street Journal reports that Game 5 had an average of 14.4 million viewers watching the game on Fox nationally, good for a 8.9 rating for the televised sports program. That rating was up 1 percent from the 2011 World Series Game 5 which featured the Cardinals against the Texas Rangers. The latest World series game had a 43.8 rating in St. Louis compared to a 38.5 in Boston.
Making things more interesting, it was the second time in World Series that there was a Monday Night Football and World Series game both being held in the same metropolitan area. Back in 1986 the NY Giants hosted the Redskins in MNF, while the Mets hosted the Red Sox in Game 7 of their World Series. On this past Monday, it was the St. Louis Rams hosting the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL, while the Cardinals hosted the Red Sox at Busch Stadium. Reportedly, the NFL game had 10.8 million viewers on ESPN, and featured Seattle winning 14-9 over the Rams.
On Wednesday night, there won't be quite as much competition for TV ratings, but a Game 7 would be an interesting situation, since it would fall on Thursday evening, the same night many will be celebrating Halloween via parties or by taking kids out trick-or-treating. Thursday night will have a football game between the Bengals and Dolphins, although it will be on the NFL Network which may not be prevalent in as many households like ESPN is on cable or satellite TV services.
Game 6 of the 2013 World Series has a first pitch time scheduled for 8:07 p.m. EST on FOX, with pre-game coverage starting around 7:30 p.m. EST. Viewers can watch on various affiliate stations around the country including WFXR 8 in the Roanoke area. International viewers have the option to watch this game live streaming online by using MLB Postseason TV subscription service here, which is advertise for $3.99.
