The 2013 MLB postseason technically begins tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays @ Texas Rangers battling for a Wild Card Play-in game and will conclude in late October with the World Series. Here is how I see the playoffs shaking out this fall.
American League play-in Game: Tampa Bay over Texas
National League Wild Card play-in Game: Pittsburgh over Cincinnati
American League Wild Card play-in Game: Cleveland over Tampa Bay
National League Divisional Series: St. Louis over Pittsburgh in four games
National League Divisional Series: Atlanta over LA Dodgers in five games
American League Divisional Series: Boston over Cleveland in five games
American League Divisional Series: Detroit over Oakland in five games
National League Championship: Atlanta over St. Louis in six games
American League Championship: Detroit over Boston in six games
World Series: Detroit over Atlanta in seven games.
Final thoughts: I know it’s a ‘homer pick’ but I feel like this will be the Tigers’ year despite a banged up Miguel Cabrera. In fact, I feel whomever wins the ALDS match-up between Oakland and Detroit will win it all. For the latest on the 2013 MLB Playoffs, click here.
