Booster Packs - $3.99
Booster packs make great stocking stuffers. One idea is to get a smorgasbord from different sets. Look for "Theros," "Magic 2014 Core Set," "Dragon's Maze," "Gatecrash," and "Return to Ravnica." Because "Theros" is the newest set, players are still collecting many of the cards. Older sets than those we've named above may cost more, and won't be legal for play in the game's most popular format Standard.

Ultra Pro Deck Protector Sleeves (100 count) - $5.99
Protect your loved one's investment by keeping their decks sleeved. A full "Magic" deck plus sideboard is 75 cards, so we recommend purchasing in quantities of three. That's enough to sleeve up four full decks.

Playmats - $8.99 and up
Extend the life of cards and sleeves by preventing scuffs, dirt, and sticky substances from getting on the back of cards and sleeves when your "Magic" player uses a playmat.

"Theros" Intro Packs - $14.99
Perfect for new or younger players, Intro packs are full 60-card decks that come with a how to play insert and two booster packs of "Theros." There's five: "Favors From Nyx," "Manipulative Monstrosities," "Anthousa's Army," "Devotion to Darkness," "Blazing Beasts of Myth." For the more experienced "Magic" player, you may want to choose a different option though.

"Duel Decks: Heroes vs. Monsters" - $19.99
This is a great option if you want your loved one to teach you how to play. They'll score two full 60-card decks built to play against each other with no additional cards needed, making it a self contained experience (although one may still choose to customize the decks)

"Magic Holiday Gift Box"- $19.99
You really can't go wrong with this choice. The "Magic Holiday Gift Box" boasts four booster packs of "Theros," the newest "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set. The box itself can hold more than 2,000 cards and comes with dividers and stickers for your loved one to organize them. There's also 20 basic lands and a special alternate-art Karametra's Acolyte included. Purchasing multiples of this product is fine.

"Commander (2013 Edition)" - $29.99
There's five different Commander decks: "Eternal Bargain," "Evasive Maneuvers," "Mind Seize," "Nature of the Beast," and "Power Hungry." Each boasts 100 cards with several popular reprints and new cards too. Don't buy more than one of each unique deck, and also make sure you don't pay more than the MSRP of $29.99 - Several places have been price gouging "Commander (2013 Edition)." You should be able to find them at mass retailers like Target.

"Theros" Booster Box(es) - $99.99 and up
Why settle for just one pack when you can get a whole box? There's 36 packs in a booster box of "Magic: The Gathering" cards, and if you plan on purchasing a lot of booster packs it'll be both wiser and cheaper on your wallet to buy them a booster box instead. While the MSRP of a booster box is officially $143.64, if you look around online you'll find them for significantly less.

Regardless which idea you go with, you're sure to make that special "Magic: The Gathering" player happy.
