Shortly after earning the pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway, Denny Hamlin drove the No. 51 Jordan Brand Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports to the top of the charts in Camping World Truck Series qualifying for Saturday’s Kroger 200 at Martinsville.
Hamlin earned the pole with a lap of 96.489 mph (19.625 seconds), besting Johnny Sauter’s lap of 96.479 mph (19.627 seconds) on Friday afternoon. Hamlin is the two-time defending October race winner at Martinsville for KBM.
KBM rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. starts behind Hamlin in the No. 54 ToyotaCare Tundra in third after his qualifying lap of 96.396 mph (19.644 seconds). Joey Coulter starts the No. 18 Darrell Gwynn Foundation Tundra 22nd after his lap of 94.960 mph (19.941 seconds).
Ron Hornaday Jr. starts next to Wallace Jr. on Row Two, with Ty Dillon and German Quiroga making up Row Three. James Buescher, Ross Chastain, Jeb Burton and Timothy Peters round out the top 10.
