2013 Ironman 70.3 San Juan age-group results

It was a very competitive field of age-group athletes who answered the starting gun on March 17, 2013 as San Juan, Puerto Rico once again played host to this much-loved WTC triathlon.

Triathletes of all levels of ability had the opportunity to compete in the same race with many of the top pro triathletes on the planet.

Raul Tejada led the way for all age-group finishers with an excellent time of 04:12:15.

He was followed by Rodrigo Sepulveda who crossed the line in 04:17:51. It should be noted that Rodrigo competed in the 18-24 age-group which is the youngest category of all, so this was an exceptional result.

Rounding out the top three male finishers in all age-group categories was Rafael Sousa with a time of 04:24:49.

The race for first place over-all among age-group women was very close.

It was Isabel Olivas who had an excellent time of 04:52:22 crossing the finish line ahead of Melisa Christian who finished second in 04:55:11. They competed in the 25-29 category and 35-39 categories respectively.

The third fastest time posted by an age-group female was the 05:04:16 time by Pierina Luncio who was in the 30-34 age-group.

There were a total of 40 spots available to be won to the Ironman 70.3 World Championships scheduled to take place on September 8, 2013.
