The annual Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Weekend and Celebration takes place Friday through Monday, November 8th through 11th at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Haggar Legends Classic, the alumni all-star game featuring captains Lanny McDonald and Darryl Sittler as well as the 2013 HoF player inductees, will be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens) in Toronto on Sunday, November 10th at 2 p.m.
This year’s player inductees are Chris Chelios, Scott Niedermayer, Brendan Shanahan and Geraldine Heaney; former Philadelphia Flyers coach Fred Shero will be inducted posthumously in the Builder Category. Former Hockey Night in Canada and Buffalo Sabres analyst Harry Neale will receive the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster, and Jay Greenburg, Philadelphia Flyers columnist and author, will receive the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for excellence in hockey journalism.
On Saturday, November 9th, Toronto Maple Leafs legend Wendell Clark will be signing autographs at the Hall from noon to 1 p.m., followed by the Inductee Fan Forum from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., featuring the four player inductees (seating is limited and first come, first served).
Tickets are on sale now for the Legends Classic hockey game at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens on Sunday; the game begins at 2 p.m. and will also include a pre-game ceremony presentation of Honored Member Blazers to the 2013 inductees.
