So what will the stars being dining on at tonight's awards show? A few day's ago a preview of the Golden Globes menu was shared by executive chef Suki Sugiura and pastry chef Thomas Henzi. The theme for this year is Californian and the chef's added a global twist. Tonight's menu will consist of three courses that are simple but elegant at the same time. A home cook can also recreate these dishes just by picking up a few things. The appetizer consist of grilled artichoke, goat cheese and endive pear salad. If goat cheese isn't an option then here are a few alternatives for goat cheese. Mascarpone is creamy and can be flavored fairly easily. Cream cheese is creamy as well but it has a bit more tanginess compared to mascarpone. A good feta cheese is also a good substitute as it has a salty taste but it too is creamy and tangy. The main course consist of smoked flat iron steak and orange marinated sea bass. Once again this dish is simple and elegant. Oranges are a great compliment to sea bass as it doesn't over power it. Recreating this dish requires a few ingredients and most are probably in stock in the pantry. The only thing that would need to be purchased is the iron steak and sea bass. If smoking the iron steak isn't an option then try using liquid smoke. It'll give the steak a smokey flavor without actually using wood chips. If mint isn't a favorite herb then try using another herb like thyme or just leave off the herb. The dessert course consist's of a cappuccino mousse cake. It's a rich dessert that is made using dark chocolate, espresso, rum and a Kahlua which is a coffee liqueur. If dark chocolate isn't a favorite then try a semi sweet or bitter sweet chocolate. The recipe for the main course can be found here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2259863/Golden-Globes-2013-menu-revealed-recreate-dishes-home.html.
