2013 Golden Globe Awards: 'Lincoln' and 'Game Change' lead nominations (Video)

Steven Spielberg is an unstoppable force. Every movie he makes gets numerous nominations for a variety of award ceremonies -- and often wins several. And it was no different with the 70th Golden Globe Awards as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association bestowed seven nominations on his latest movie, "Lincoln," including, of course, Best Motion Picture - Drama. Given its public accolades and the fact that the Oscars also dropped 12 nominations on the film, "Lincoln" will undoubtedly walk away with a few more -- perhaps even one for Mr. Spielberg himself, who has been nominated for eleven Best Director awards throughout his career, winning three.

"Lincoln" was followed closely by "Argo" and "Django Unchained" with five nominations each.

"Life of Pi" and "Zero Dark Thirty," along with the aforementioned three films, are all up for the Best Motion Picture - Drama award.

Spielberg is joined by the directors of each of the Best Motion Picture award nominees -- Ben Affleck ("Argo"), Quentin Tarentino ("Django Unchained"), Ang Lee ("Life of Pi"), and Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty") -- for the Best Director award.

Over in the Television half of the Golden Globe Awards, the HBO movie "Game Change" led with five nominations as well, including the Best Miniseries or Television Film award. Showtime's "Homeland" was one off the pace with four, but it led all other television series in nominations.

Some of the more notable nominations include Meryl Streep's 27th nod. She has won eight Golden Globes over the years, the last being last year when she took home the Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama for her portrayal of British prime minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady."

Alec Baldwin is nominated again for his portrayal of Jack Donaghy on NBC's "30 Rock." It would be his fourth win for the role if he takes the trophy.

Kevin Costner, Clive Owen, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, and Sigourney Weaver all are up for best actor and actress on the small screen instead of the big screen for a change.

Three of the women nominated for Best Actress - Television Drama are returning winners for the same role: Claire Danes (who won last year for "Homeland"), Julianne Margulies ("The Good Wife"), and Glenn Close ("Damages"). Danes also won back in 1995 for her role in "My So-Called Life."

Actress and director Jodie Foster was selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press as the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award, an honorary award given to those who have made great contributions to the entertainment industry.

Speaking of which, Steven Spielberg won the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2008.

The 2013 ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hill, Calif., on Jan. 13, beginning at 8:00 p.m. (EST). Comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host the event.
