The Free Children's Spring Film Festival is back at MJR Theaters with all new movies. During the festival they show children's films that have opened in the last year. Children ages 12 and under get in for free, while adults and those over 12 are $1. Tickets for the festival are only available on the day of the show, and sold only to theater capacity. Upcoming showtimes will be updated on the MJR Theater website, http://www.mjrtheatres.com/index.asp, the Tues before each film of the week.
The spring lineup is as follows:
Frankenweenie- This Tim Burton 3D stop motion, is about a boy and his dog. Victor Frankenstein is missing his dog Sparky, so he brings him back to life using electricity in his make shift lab. When his friends find out what he was able to do, they bring back their pets as well, and chaos ensues in the town.
Frakenweenie will be shown the weekend of February 23rd and 24th, with showtimes posted on the MJR website on February 19th.
Wreck-It Ralph- This Disney film shows what happens to the characters of favorite video games at night, when all the kids go home. Ralph, a big burly character, is tired of always being the bad guy and decides to leave his game. When moving from game to game to find a new home, he makes new friends including an interesting little girl named Vanellope Von Schweez. They team up to defeat the Cy-Bugs that threaten to take over the entire arcade.
Wreck-It Ralph will be showing the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd, with showtimes posted on February 26th
Hotel Transylvania- Dracula is an overprotective dad who invites all of his monster friends to his hotel for the 118th birthday of this daughter Mavis. During the festivities, a 21 year old human named Jonathon stumbles upon Hotel Transylvania. Dracula tries his best, to keep his daughter under his wing, and from falling in love with a human.
Hotel Transylvania will be showing the weekend of March 9th and 10th, with showtimes posted on March 5th.
Rise of the Guardians- An evil spirit named Pitch wants to engulf the world into darkness. The Guardians; Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, and Sandman, enlist Jack Frost to help protect the children of the world.
Rise of the Guardians will be showing the weekend of March 16th and 17th, with showtimes posted on March 12th.
