2013 Firefly Music Festival lineup announced (Photos)

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Public Enemy, Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Amanda Palmer, and Foster the People are just a few of over 70 bands and artists that will perform at the 2013 Firefly Music Festival, organizers announced today. This is the second year for the Firefly Music Festival, which will run June 21-23 at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway. Tickets will be available Feb. 21 at noon EST via FireflyFestival.com.

The three-day, four-stage event includes artists representing a wide variety of musical genres including classic rock, hip-hop, alt-rock, folk, and electronic. It’s clear the organizers were determined to surpass the festival’s 2012 debut lineup (which featured The Killers, The Black Keys, and Jack White among its 48 acts) in both quantity and quality.

Other highlights from the summer festival include the Lumineers, and Alabama Shakes (fresh off their Grammy Award show appearances), Grizzly Bear, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Matt and Kim, and Ellie Goulding.

As it did last year, Firefly will team with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to create charity opportunities, as well as welcoming back Dogfish Head Brewery and other returning attractions.
