2013 Final Four: Mitch McGary key for Michigan vs. Cuse; McGary NBA stock rising

The 2013 Final Four tips off this weekend and for the surging Michigan Wolverines a freshman may be the key to victory when they face Syracuse. Michigan forward Mitch McGary has made a name for himself in the March Madness Tournament, so much so that NBA gurus have McGary as a first round draft pick.

According to a Mlive report on April 2, ESPN’s Chad Ford projects the freshman as a first-round prospect if he made the jump from college to the pros after this season. Wow talk about making the most of the tourney!

Don’t worry Michigan fans, according to McGary, he isn't going anywhere.

"I haven’t even thought about (leaving),” he told MLive.com after practice Tuesday at the Crisler Center. “I don’t have a decision to make -- I’m coming back.”

“Yeah,” he said with a laugh. “I’m coming back.”

All that NBA talk is good stuff, and it won't be long before he is playing for big bucks in the pros, but right now McGary is focused on one thing - advancing to the final round of the NCAA Tournament and playing for a National Championship.

McGary has been a flat out beast since replacing Jordan Morgan in the starting lineup. The freshman is averaging 17.5 points and almost 12 rebounds per contest.

Las Vegas odds makers and the betting public like McGray and the Wolverines this weekend as Michigan is now up to a 3 point favorite vs. Syracuse. The line opened at Michigan -2.
