2013 Fantasy Baseball: Tigers' Cabrera and Verlander top their position

With the 2013 MLB season drawing near, many fans are preparing for Fantasy Baseball Drafts. Here in Detroit, our Tigers will boast some of the most sought players in the game. While Fantasy Baseball is not near the level of popularity of Fantasy Football, fans all around the world enjoy Fantasy Baseball.

Scott White of CBS Sports.com put out a top 20 list for each position (40 for outfielders) a month ago. Here were his top players by position:

C-Buster Posey—SF

P-Justin Verlander—Det

RP-Craig Kimbrel—Atl

1B-Albert Pujols—LAA

2B-Robinson Cano—NYY

3B-Miguel Cabrera—Det

SS-Troy Tulowtzki—Col

OF-Ryan Braun—Mil

OF-Mike Trout—LAA

OF-Matt Kemp—LAD

Other notables as far as Tigers are concerned:

Alex Avila ranked 17th for catchers

Prince Fielder ranked third for first basemen

Austin Jackson ranked 26th for outfielders

Max Scherzer ranked 22nd for starting pitchers

Doug Fister ranked 31st for starting pitchers
