Although CBS is set to air the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards live on Sunday, Sept. 22, another network has plans to carry a full slate of TV specials geared to television’s biggest night of the year. The red carpet, after party and fashion recap TV specials on E! all add to the glitz and glamor of the annual event.
To kick things off, host Neil Patrick Harris rolled out the official red carpet on Sept. 18. According to ETonline, he spoke about the preparation that goes into hosting the Emmys. "The show is like a big, giant wave that you surf. You can't get smashed by it, so you just have to do as much preparation as you can and be ready for the big day," said veteran host Harris, who ran the ship the Tony Awards in June. "Then, when the big day comes, try to be as calm and focused as you can—and not as drunk as usual." Executive producer Ken Ehrlich promised a sensational opening number at the start of the 2013 Emmys. “It's really exciting; it's never been done before!" he exclaimed. The nominees from the choreography category are combining their talents to come up with a dazzling routine. To see Harris talk about this year’s Emmy Awards, be sure to watch the video to the left.
