Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt Kenseth will start second in Sunday’s AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. His qualifying lap of 161.805 mph (22.249 seconds) in the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota Camry was bested only by Dale Earnhardt Jr., who won the pole with a speed of 161.849 mph (22.243 seconds).
Kyle Busch will start 14th in the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota after his fast lap of 160.721 mph (22.399 seconds), while Denny Hamlin qualified 18th in the No. 11 FedEx Freight Toyota with a speed of 160.577 mph (22.422 seconds).
The green flag for the AAA 400 waves at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Busch starts fifth in Saturday’s 5-Hour Energy 200 benefitting Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry qualified at a speed of 153.932 mph (23.387 seconds), behind pole sitter Joey Logano, Sam Hornish Jr., Austin Dillon and Alex Bowman.
Brian Vickers and Elliott Sadler make up the sixth row at Dover on Saturday. Vickers qualified 11th in the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota with a speed of 152.996 mph (23.530 seconds) and Sadler’s No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota qualified 12th after a qualifying lap of 152.808 mph (23.559 seconds).
