The ever changing role of parenthood and modern men will be the topic of discussion at the 2013 Dad 2.0 Summit hosted by Dove Men+Care at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston.
Houston Mayor, Annise Parker, will kick-off the event on Friday, February 1 and welcome the more than over 200 top influencers throughout the weekend. The event will address a wide range of topics including presentations by Houston-based Dad 2.0 Summit co-founder, John Pacini, Houston-based Dad blogger, “Mocha Dad” aka Fred Goodall, and Dad 2.0 Summit founder, Doug French.
The goal of the Dad 2.0 Summit is to create an open conversation about the commercial power of dads online. There will also be the opportunity to learn the tools and tactics used by influential bloggers to create high-quality content, build personal brands and develop business ideas.
Events for Friday, February 1 begin at 9 a.m. and will continue through 6:15 p.m. Some of the topics scheduled to be discussed are Writing a Wrong: Authentic Blogging Through a Major Life Change, Can Parenting Ever Be Truly Gender-Neutral, Cross-Cultural Communication And Its Effect the American Understanding of Fatherhood, and Faith, Fatherhood & Family: How Belief and Spirituality Integrate with Modern Parenthood.
Numerous bloggers, such as Carter Gaddis, Kevin McKeever, Ted Rubin, Alan Kercinik, Jim Lin, David Vienna, Caleb Gardner and Black Hockey Jesus, will appear on February 1.
Saturday, February 2 is also a day filled with much information and discussion opportunities. The day begins at 9:10 a.m. and concludes at 5:45 p.m. Topics of the day include How to Turn Your Social Media Expertise into a Full-Time Job, Built By Association: How Innovative Thinking Has Helped Dad Blogs Flourish, Followers, Circlers, Pinners, and Friends: Building a Marketable Platform With Integrity and Digital Entrepreneurship and Online Marketing to Men.
Bloggers slated for the 2013 Dad 2.0 Summit, Saturday, February 2 appearance are Whit Honea, Brene Brown, and Chris Read.
The afternoon has the ConAgra Great Dad Cook-off winner announced at 3:15 p.m. At 4:45 p.m., the Dad 2.0 Craft Beer Reception and book signing with the keynote speaker will conclude the event.
