The 18th Annual Critic's Choice Movie Awards were held on Jan. 10 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, and we've got the hottest photos fresh off the red carpet and winner's walk for you here below. Stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and more dazzled, while Elle Fanning and Amanda Seyfried fell a bit flat with their red carpet fashion attempts.
The 2013 Critics Choice Movie Awards aired on the CW network Thurs. night, just 24 hours after this year's People's Choice Awards aired on CBS and hours after the 2013 Oscar nominations were announced. Check out coverage on those events at the previous links, then read on to find out what your favorite stars wore to the CCMAs Thurs. night.
Best Dressed at the 2013 Critic's Choice Awards: Red Carpet Fashion
"Zero Dark Thirty" actress Jessica Chastain, who won Best Actress at the CCMAs Thurs. night, chose a vibrant orange Prada dress topped off with Harry Winston jewels. The gown's rich, warm color brought out the peaches-and-cream in Chastain's skin and set off her auburn hair, which was done in soft, loose curls. The gown featured crystal-work along the back straps, accenting her diamond bracelet beautifully. For this reason, Jessica Chastain is among our favorites for best dressed at the 2013 Critic's Choice Awards.
"Hunger Games" and "Silver Lining Playbook" starlet Jennifer Lawrence was easily another favorite. Jennifer Lawrence dazzled on the Critic's Choice Movie Awards red carpet in a Prabal Gurung gown, with her hair in a sort of messy-chic side-knot. The sleeveless gown featured an elegant, high-scoop neckline and a sweetheart cutout over her bosom. The gown nipped in at Lawrence's waist, and a gauzy train fell behind her. It was red carpet fashion perfection well beyond her years, and an easy pick for best dressed at the 2013 Critic's Choice Awards.
Amanda Seyfried should have taken a lesson from the ladies above, because we just weren't feeling her Marios Schwab gown and uptight topknot. The dress honestly looked like an electric blue doily our grandma might knit if she took a hit of LSD. The strappy black-satin platform heels Seyfried paired with the gown didn't help matters; the shoes were alright on their own, but this dress needed a nude shoe. Actually, this dress needed to remain in the closet, but live and learn. Worst dressed list, by a mile.
However, where Jessica Chastian may be a runner-up to Jennifer Lawrence for best dressed, Amanda Seyfried is but a runner-up to another young starlet who got it all wrong on the red carpet tonight. Elle Fanning, we're sorry, but you all but dared us to pick you for worst dressed at the Critic's Choice Awards when you said, "Yes, I think that floral tablecloth will do. Shoes? My grandma said I could use her silver orthopedic garden clogs."
(Isn't that what you said? No? Then who let you out of the house wearing what you wore tonight?!)
