2013 Cowgirl Up art exhibition and sale opens in Wickenburg

Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West Invitational Exhibition & Sale returns to the Desert Caballeros Western Museum March 22 – May 5, 2013. This year there are 58 participating artists from around the country and more than 200 original paintings and sculptures.

Cowgirl Up! kicks off with an exciting weekend of events, March 22-24 starting with a Friday “Artists & Patrons Party” at Wickenburg’s historic Monte Vista Ranch. On Saturday morning, March 23, there will be a special forum at the Museum called “Cowgirls and Camaraderie”. This forum will bring together artists, collectors and scholars to discuss women’s Western art together. The audience will gain a deeper understanding of the creative process as well as the Western art market. That evening, the show and sale officially opens with a “Bash & Bid” Gala Awards Dinner & Auction. The weekend ends with breakfast and the most lively “Quick Draw & Live Auction” and Miniatures Sale on Sunday, March 24.

Having become one of the most important exhibition and sales for women artists in the nation, Cowgirl Up! captures the attention and imagination of just about everyone who is attracted to the lifestyle and spirit of the West. Cowgirl Up! is a Western portal for art enthusiasts who see this as not only a wonderful gathering of women artists but a place to do serious business. The breadth and depth of art expands from traditional to contemporary, assuring that there is something for all tastes. Cowgirl Up! extends beyond the typical western art show to express the West’s uniqueness.

Cowgirl Up! Exhibition and Sale remains on public view and artwork for sale through May 5, 2013. Art lovers, art collectors and fans of the West are sure to include Wickenburg and Cowgirl Up! in their plans this spring.
