2013 Christian Writer's Conferences in Michigan

Unfortunately for us, there are no Christian writer's conferences in the Flint area. However, there are some good ones here in our great state of Michigan. If you want to be a writer, you should think about attending a writer's conference. Most writers who attend them say they are well worth the money spent. You get energized, network, and learn more about the craft. Here is a list of Michigan's Christian writer's conferences in 2013.

  • American Christian Writers Conference -This annual conference takes place in Grand Rapids June 7-8. It is for fiction and nonfiction writers and has an intimate setting. There are sessions where there are only four to six writers with an instructor.
  • Breathe Christian Writers Conference - Right now, there is not much information about the Breathe Conference but if you keep checking the link above you will find more information. The date is set for October 18-19. In years past the focus has been pretty broad. It has included information for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and screenwriters.
  • Maranatha Christian Writers' Conference - This conference is a couple days longer than the others. It's four days long and goes from September 25 - 28. This conference is small and set at a Christian conference facility in West Michigan. Not only will you get great teaching, but it will have wonderful fall scenery too.

But wait, there's one more conference you may want to think about attending this year. It's not in Michigan, but close enough. This year the American Christian Fiction Writer's Conference will be in Indianapolis, Indiana. In years past, the conference has been in Texas, Tennessee, and Colorado. So when it's this close you will want to make sure you make the trip.

  • ACFW Annual Conference - Their website calls if "The Premier Christian Fiction Conference" and for good reason. This is where all the Christian fiction writers, publishers, and agents get together for teaching and fun. If you can only attend one conference this year, go to this one. It's September 13 - 15 in Indianapolis. If you can't attend, still try to look at the website. They sell CDs and MP3 downloads of the sessions.
