Registration for the 2013 Broad Street Run will be a lottery after over 30,000 registrants filled the spots in less than five hours in 2012. Organizers of the Broad Street Run have stressed that the event is a RUNNING race and walkers are discouraged from registering. The 34th annual Broad Street Run will be held on May 5, 2013.
The lottery will open beginning at 12:01AM EST on Monday, February 4th and will close on Friday, February 15th at 11:59PM EST. You will be required to complete the entry form and provide credit card information, but you will not be charged if you are not selected for the lottery. The entry fee is $40.
To spread out the entries, the following schedule is suggested:
Last Name (or group names) between A-F register on February 4-5
Last Name (or group names) between G-L register on February 6-7
Last Name (or group names) between M-R register on February 8-9
Last Name (or group names) between S-Z register on February 10-11
All remaining register on February 12-15
Groups
If you would like to run with a friend or family member or group of people, you may enter as a group. A group is up to five members and if the group is selected, all of the runners in the group are selected and if rejected, all members in the group are rejected.
Veterans
Veteran runners, those who have run the race for ten or more years, will have guaranteed entry to the race. Veteran runners must enter the lottery. If not selected, they can make a request to enter through email to bsrveterans@aol.com.
Charity
For guaranteed entry, runners can sign up with a charity!
