One of the best parts of a new year is making plans on how to spend any free time you might have. For beaders and jewelry makers that means looking for those special beads, findings and gemstones that you just can’t find in the big box craft stores. It’s hard to get them online as well because the colors, sizes and shapes are never quite what they looked like in the photographs. Fortunately Cincinnati has several regular bead, gem and jewelry shows to help with that search, or provide inspiration, or scratch that itch to add a few (or a lot) more beads to the collection.
The 2013 shows start this month with the Intergalactic Bead Show at the Sharonville Convention Center on January 26-27. In February, The American Bead and Jewelry Show is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and in March Gemstreet USA is back at the Sharonville Convention Center (see calendar of events below). The Gem, Mineral, Fossil and Jewelry show at the Cincinnati Gardens, in May, can also provide some unique finds. Intergalactic, Gemstreet and The American Bead and Jewelry Show return several more times throughout the year as well.
