The third three month period picks up right where the second quarter left off. The second Mercury retrograde begins on June 26 and lasts an unusually long 24 days (the normal length is between 20-22 days). Before going direct on July 20, Mercury will be joined by Uranus also going retrograde on July 17.
Uranus, whose energies focus on deviation and change could cause wild fluctuations in the markets and in financial matters generally. Add in what promises to be a highly potent Mercury retrograde and a shaky world economy could become much more unstable.
The single most important astrological aspect of the entire year also occurs during this third quarter. On July 20, a Grand Trine is formed where Mars trines both Neptune a Saturn. A Grand Trine is where three planets are each 120 degrees from each other and are in the same element (i.e. Earth, Air, Fire or Water). The Grand Trine of July 20 is a Water Sign Grand Trine (Mars is in Cancer-The Cardinal Water Sign, Neptune in Pisces-Mutable Water Sign, Saturn in Scorpio-Fixed Water Sign).
Water Grand Trines tend to heighten the emotional and sensitivity of humankind. While there is an opportunity to remember what being human stands for, being lead by emotional responses that override both fact and logic can lead to over-reactions to events that could escalate a minor skirmish into a major flare up. More meteorological events are also likely during this time as the Neptune is still in retrograde. The possibility of another oil spill or related issue cannot be ruled out.
By the time the fourth quarter of 2013 arrives, we may all be trying to catch our collective breaths, spiritually, emotionally, and even physically. Much of what was the status quo at the end of 2012 will have been altered or even cast aside. The economic and political landscape of Europe will be far different that it is now and for the United States and the rest of the world, dealing with this new reality is the true test of the years to come.
October 18 brings another lunar eclipse and three days later, the final Mercury retrograde of the year on the October 21. This time period could well see an armed conflict that has been simmering for some time. The communication disruptions of the Mercury retrograde could be thetrigger that sets things off.
The total Solar Eclipse of November 3 could herald some kind of mishap (scandal, assassination, overthrow) of a world leader. What make this so confounding is that this may involve someone who is not one of the “usual suspects”. Nonetheless, the event will cause even more doubt about just how stable our reality is. The Venus retrograde occurring, ironically enough on December 21, could be the indicator that a radical shift in how things are run worldwide is on the way.
To put 2013 in perspective, the words of the late Capt. Phil Harris, of the television show Deadliest Catch fame, are both prophetic and instructive for everyone on this frail blue orb:
“You can make things happen, you can watch things happen, or you can wonder what the $&#% just happened.”
That choice awaits us all in the year ahead is all in the psychic predictions and astro-forecasts.
