It’s October in Arizona. That means the weather dips below 100 degrees (hopefully), and outdoor and seasonal activities are abundant. The Arizona State Fair is an activity that comes around this time of year, and if you plan it well, you can take your kids for an affordable price (or basically free).
Each year the Arizona State Fair offers discounted days, concerts that are included in the price of the Fair ticket, and extra events such as the Demolition Derby and Rodeos. Some of the discounted days include $2 admission each Saturday and Sunday if you enter before 2pm, discounted days for Seniors and Veterans, discounted days for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and if you shop at Fry’s and spend more than $40, you will have a coupon printed at the bottom of your receipt for two free Adult admissions to the Fair (good for specific Fridays). Also, kids between the ages of 5-14 can also get three free ride tickets for filling out three book reports. My favorite discount by far is Foodie Friday! You can get the popular Fair foods for $2.
As for parking, there are discounts for that too! (Sometimes that is the most expensive part of admission). Also, did you know that you can park at the State Capitol for free and catch a Fair shuttle for free? Make sure you check out that option too.
As you've read, there are plenty of opportunities to get your family into the Arizona State Fair for next to nothing. It’s a fun way to see some animals, get some fresh air and some sunshine, and create a fun family memory with your kids. While all of this is a fun outing, don’t forget to consider safety issues. The Phoenix Police offer a few safety tips to help make your day fun-focused.
Now go out and eat something fried at the Arizona State Fair!
